Stop Abusing Agents

I have many good friends who are Property Agents aka Real Estate Sales Professionals.

I have heard many cases where their clients refused to pay the commissions as agreed.

I have seen them work past midnight hours.

Some clients undercut some Agents by using their own sisters/brothers/friends who are agents to process the deals.

Some landlords quietly photocopy the Tenancy Agreement and renew the agreement quietly when the original contract runs out.

I have overheard their telephone conversations where the clients were shouting expletives at the Agent for not getting the rental $$ or selling $$… which are unrealistic in today’s market.

Every time I heard their stories, I would shake my head in sadness.

So what if you are property owner? So what you have money ? Does that give you the rights to be rude to people who are serving you ?

Agents are people. They have given a large part of their lives learning new skills to thrive in this market, to provide better service.

And there are bad Agents whose conducts caused the Govt to implement new rules to good Agents, thereby making their lives work more difficult.

Agents are professionals.

They deserve respect and courtesy.

In my schools, they are equivalent to the chinese God Of Fortune.

In my schools, we insist that everyone is respectful and courteous to Agents.

If they are guilty of abuse to the Agents, I would kick them out of the community.

Money must be made in Happy manner.

We want Happy Money, becos money will multiply.

We don’t want Unhappy Money earned thru undercutting agents, reducing the commissions after agreeing, so even unnecessary delays in paying their fees.

So, please be nice to Agents. Respect their time. Make their efforts count. Reward them accordingly. Be fair to them. Love them.

As for the bad Agents, report them to CEA, do not let them bad conduct spoil the whole barrel.
