Daughter Is Killing Her Parents

My father would “kok” my head with his knuckles if I had told him the same thing as I was told this morning.

I know this lady very well. She has a 19 yr old daughter.

Her daughter just told her that she had decided to work in a charity organisation for free after graduating from Law school.

What? That means no salary ? that means continue to suck her family’s finances?

Fortunately for this lady, her husband and her are trained in buying and milking local properties for passive income.

Over the past few years, they have built a tidy portfolio consisting mainly of local properties.

So when her daughter wanted to work for free, drawing a small allowances, her parents instantly said yes.

I asked her why.

This is her reply below. Its very meaningful. Read on….

Over the years, she has amassed a sizable savings accounts with multiple streams of passive income. All the money in the world means nothing to them if they live poorly. Like most parents, they want their kids to grow up happy; smiling everyday; cheerful and transforming into a socially responsible person and be a good resident on earth.

Her daughter’s wishes can now be granted without considering her family finances. As long as she is willing and happy, her parents will be glad to share the wealth with her.

However, knowing this lady friend, she always have great ideas.

So I asked her, “ did you say “yes” immediately ?”.

Guess what she said ?

She gave me a small smile and continued. She told her daughter that her parents will support her as long as on her 21st birthday, they can use her name to buy several properties for passive income and give her all the excess income and stop sucking her parents retirement nest. Her parents would top up their daughter’s savings for the purpose of down payments.

What a great outcome ! This young girl, on her 21st birthday will be living on passive income from then on. She can do anything she wants, without considering about money first. She will be living her dream life.

This is very, very different from my situation. For a long time, I thought the purpose of my life was to make lots of money and retire at 65 based on the money I have saved. And during that process, I should ignore my passions and choose any employers who pay me most. Only after retirement, then I can “chase” my passions.

At mid 40s, I realised the above mindset is so wrong. I was depriving myself of my own joy everyday. All my focus is on securing food and roof for my family. Something happened to me in mid-40s and at that very moment, I made a decision and went around the globe scouring for people who can help me to live a great life with passive income from properties, shares and businesses.…. People with that real life experience, people who have been there, done that. I have found many of them. They taught, I applied.

That decision, make me into what I am today.

I am so happy for myself, my family and also people around me, like the mother above.
