Crisis Are Like Scary Movies

Are you a moviegoer?

Do you like to watch scary movies like vampires, ghosts?

Did you notice that each movie is scarier than the previous ones?

If the new movie is not scarier than the previous one, will you be keen to watch?

A crisis is the same, or very similar. And the current crisis is scarier than the previous.

Now think about this, if you watch the same scary movie the second time, will it be less scary?

Crisis is the same, or very similar. SARS was scary. Its nothing compared to the current one. Right?

Please allow me to share with you a real-life example….

Many years ago, during a crisis, I had to travel for business. There were lots of fears in the markets. Our international airport was almost like a ghost town. There were a few shoppers. Immigration counters were wide open with no queue. When I boarded SQ, there were more crew than passengers. It was scary.

Today, according to my friends who work in our airport, its many times quieter. Some shops have closed down. It is scarier than any previous crisis.

This crisis, I have a H-U-G-E realisation ………..

**** EVERY CRISIS IS THE SAME IN PATTERNS ****

Nature and the cause may be different.

However, human reactions will be the same.

Pls, allow me to elaborate.

The stock market will drop terribly, many jobs will be lost, lots of fears around…. Very very scary.

Many ppl will lose sleep.

Divorce rates up.

Domestic violence up.

Business for legal debt collectors goes up.

Suicide rates goes up.

On the other hand, like everything staying in balance (now, you got to train your eyes to see)
Good things will go on sale, for example, exotic cars, properties, watches, jewelleries….

One of my mentors (cannot be named) bought landed properties at a huge discount during the crisis.

I was told that a super-rich family just bought two GCB in Sentosa.

A new-friend just bought a newly-built landed house at $1M below bank’s valuations from a distressed developer this month.

While many people around us will panic, conserve and hoard, there are others who will invest more.

Which type do you think is wealthier?

To you, reading this message now, allow me to ask you a Question …. If every six to ten years, there is going to be a down cycle like this, can you learn to get used to it and then learn how to profit from it?

Or are you going to pray during every crisis that you are not going to lose your job?

Just like riding roller coaster…. First time, very scary. Second time less so.

Just like vampire movies … first time must watch with pillows. Second time, you will come with popcorn and root beer.

Learn how to overcome this fear.

Crisis does not need to be scary. Anyone can learn to get used to it, and grab the bull by its horn. And seize this once in a decade chance to make huge wealth.
